Final Blog Posting

After reflecting back to the lesson that I taught in class I feel that it went very well. Although we did not get through all that we had planned overall I feel as if we did a very good job. The only thing that I would have changed, was to implement more of a behavior plan. For the preparation of this lesson me and my partner sat down together and talked about our lesson for a while. We had to decide who was going to do what so that we were prepared to start our lesson.

Our objectives for this lesson were for the students to be able to answer comprehension questions about the story and be able to recognize words and place them with pictures. After the completion of this lesson I feel very confident that all of the students were able to pick up on the material that was being taught to them. The way we taught our lesson truely helped out all of the students. We structured our lesson in a way that students of all learning abilities could have been very succesful.

Although we had students in our class acting as if they were younger, I think most of the behavior problems would appear in an elementary school classroom. Even though there were interuptions I feel that these behavior problems will help me deal with them in the future.

My partner and I incorporated a podcast so that the students could sing a long with it as it was reading the story. We first had our students listen to the podcast to hear all the words before singing with it the second time. I think this really helped the students and they were very excited about this. I think for the most part the podcast went very well, and it would have even been better if the students who were involved were elementary school students.

Overall I feel that the students in our class did a good job on their lessons. This experience was very helpful to all and will really help when they first step into the classroom. However some of the behaviors might have been over the top but you never know how some students may act in the classroom.

The one weakness that I saw overall was that the teachers in our classroom were not as strict with the behavior probems as they should have been. I think the teachers had a hard problem with this because if was classmates rather than young students.

End of Day 3

I did not get much work done on my podcast today. Today i looked up information regarding my lesson plan for Down By the Bay. I think i found some material that might be helpful when I begin writing my lesson plan. I also, started to work on our next assignment, which is to come up with five questions that pertain to our story. I have decided that when I finish these questions that I am going to be posting them on my blog.

Pre-Podcasting Day #3

For todays class I am going to finish working on our powerpoint presentation. As I am doing this I am going to try to find a way to upload our powerpoint onto our podcast. If this does not work I am going to have to have two separate pieces of work. One being the pod cast and the other being the powerpoint to go along with the podcast. I am going to be thinking about creative ways to use both the podcast and the powerpoint successfully.

End of Day #2

On our second day in the lab we feel as if we have come up with a very good idea for our podcast. We have created a powerpoint presentation with pictures to go along with us as we read/sing our story. The tough part about this is going to be uploading our powerpoint onto our podcast. Overall I think that are podcast will be very good in the end.

Pre-Podcasting Day # 2

After completing our opening for our blog I have been thinking about how we are going to break up the reading of the story. We have decided to read two pages each before switching to our partner. We have also been looking for an image that goes with our book Down By The Bay, and also background music that goes along with the story.

Day 1 of Podcasting

The first day of podcasting was considered a success. I was able to get my introduction to my podcasting done, although the temperature of the room was extremely hot. I look forward to having the oppurtunity to read Down By The Bay for everyone to listen. Check my podcasting site out and follow me for upcoming events.
